Why Conservatives Can’t Govern

May 17th, 2007 by Andy in Conservative / Liberal - What Do They Mean

I’d be interested in hearing some lucid, coherent replies or rebuttals from self-described conservatives regarding this. Granted, perhaps quotation marks should be placed around the term “conservative” in reference to this article here, since these people today parading around under the banner have little in common with what has been historically understood as conservatism.

I recall years ago when conservatism seemed to indicate a kind of orthodoxy. Viz patriotism, it has been thoroughly discredited, and now indicates a level of fascism, not much different than Nazism or Stalinism. Look at today’s news where both the Democrats and Republicans are hell bent to pass a thoroughly discredited approach to immigration reform. Makes me glad to remember that I am not a member of either party. I am a proud SOCIALIST, where all working class people can give vent to their frustation and may eventually replace the capitalist system, — that is at the heart of all social inequity. Stop putting your trust in any other political entity.
